Zidane did not rule out any potential departure of Real Madrid strikers Borja Mayoral and Luka Jovic
Expectations were high of Luka Jovic among the Real Madrid faithful after the club announced his signature last summer for a reported €60 million.
It was expected that the striker, who had netted 27 times in total the season prior to arriving at the Spanish capital, would steadily become a regular source of goals and eventually replace Karim Benzema.
For some reason, the Serbian’s signing did not work out as expected. Failure to impress in the little chances he got saw him get frozen out of Zinedine Zidane’s team.
Talks have surfaced in recent weeks that Los Blancos believe that the former Frankfurt man is not yet ready for their challenge, and want to send him out on loan.
Borja Mayoral is another player whose future looks to be in doubt at Santiago Bernabeu amid rumors of a temporary move to AS Roma.
Quizzed if the club are planning to send either Jovic or Mayoral out on loan during a news conference, as per Marca, Zidane replied: “I’m not even going to answer you. I’m going to count on all the players who have a first-team contract. Then we’ll see.
“You have to take everything into account. Until the 5th the market is open. We will see. The players are fine and that’s what interests me.”
