Welcome to Samdalri also known as Welkeomtu Samdalri(웰컴투 삼달리) is directed by Cha Young Hoon, the man behind Forecasting Love and Weather (2022), When the Camellia Blooms (2019), Are You Human Too? (2018) and Uncontrollably Fond (2016). The script has been written by Kwon Hye Joo who has previously worked on Hi Bye, Mama! (2020) and Go Back Couple (2017).
Welcome to Samdalri Plot
Jo Yong Pil decides to become a weather forecaster to protect the elderly in his hometown after his mother, who worked as a haenyeo (a diver who collects marine life), is tragically killed by an incorrect weather forecast. However, he becomes known at work as a stubborn agitator who isn’t afraid to challenge his superiors, due to his dedication and unwillingness to let inaccurate information go unnoticed.
Jo Yong Pil and Jo Sam Dal had grown up together. While Jo Yong Pil was happy to remain in his native Samdalri, Jo Sam Dal made it her mission to leave her small town and move to Seoul. Jo Sam Dal – now known as Jo Eun Hye – finally succeeded and reached the pinnacle of her career after years of working as an assistant in the fashion photography industry. However, she returns to Samdalri, where she is still known as Sam Dal, rather than Eun Hye, after everything she has worked so hard for comes crashing down in an instant.
Jo Yong Pil and Jo Sam Dal used to be very close when they were younger, but they drifted apart after an incident, and the once inseparable friends seem to have stopped talking to each other. When Jo Sam Dal returns to Samdalri, they discover that their fondness for one another still remains after all these years.

Shin Hye Sun will portray Jo Eun Hye, aka Jo Sam Dal, a famous photographer. Sam Dal who dreamed of leaving the island from a young age and as soon as she gets the chance to leave for Seoul, she does. She works her way up to the top of the fashion photography industry as an assistant under the name Jo Eun Hye for eight years. But all her hard work comes crashing down in an instant, and far too easily, due to a single incident. Eventually, she returns to the Samdalri, where she dreamed for years to get away from and where they still call her Sam Dal.
Ji Chang Wook plays Jo Yong Pil, a forecaster at the Jeju Island Meteorological Agency. Yong Pil always challenges the weather forecasts made by the headquarters and even argues with the head of the meteorological office. After losing his mother, a haenyeo, due to a weather misreport, he dreamed of becoming a forecaster, and he continues to work as a meteorologist to protect his beloved Jeju Island, especially the precious elder people living in his hometown of Samdali.
Kang Young Seok also plays a major role in the drama in a yet undisclosed role.
Kang Mina will play the role Jo Hae Dal, younger sister of Jo Sam Dal, who moved to Seoul at the age of 20 and got married after falling in love at a young age. However, even before her daughter was born, her husband tragically passed away in a car accident, leaving her to raise their child alone.
Although she is the youngest of three sisters, Jo Hae Dal is a mature and responsible character who devoted the entirety of her twenties to raising her daughter as a single mom.
Lee Jae Won plays the role of Kyung Tae who grew up together with Ji Chang Wook and Shin Hye Sun since childhood
Bae Myung Jin will portray the role of Cha Eun Woo who is one of the five eagle brothers and Meteorological Agency’s observer.
