It’s believed Alisson could be out for up to six weeks after an unfortunate collision in training.
Adrian started in goal for Liverpool and immediately did not help himself by giving Aston Villa a goal.
The 33-year-old gave the ball away to Jack Grealish, who squared it to Ollie Watkins to put Aston Villa 1-0 ahead.
It was the first of SEVEN goals Adrian would go on to concede as Liverpool were thrashed 7-2.
While Adrian wasn’t really at fault for the following six goals, surely Liverpool don’t concede seven if Alisson is in goal. While he may not have been at fault for the goals, there was one moment that had co-commentator Jamie Carragher laughing.
Adrian came out to collect a cross but was beaten to it by Watkins, who could only hit the crossbar.
After the match, Jurgen Klopp defended his goalkeeper by saying: “The first goal was not good but I don’t think he had anything to do with the other goals. We didn’t help him tonight.
“He is a really good goalie. Last year we played 11 games with him and won pretty much all. Tonight our goalie was not the problem. The reaction to the first goal was not his problem, it was our problem.”
Well, if Klopp watches a new compilation video that has been posted on social media, he wouldn’t hesitate.
Twitter user @CF_Comps has uploaded a rather cruel video titled ‘Adrian – The Competition Winner’ showing all of his mistakes. It really is rather tragic.
