Ten years ago it was a special night at Craven Cottage when Fulham now in Championship defeated Old lady 4-1 .
They trailed Juve after losing the first leg 3-1 at the Stadio Olympico and then with Trezeguet scoring inside 2 minutes. It looked like the tie was all said and done.
But, a quick reply in the 9th minute from that footballing icon Bobby Zamora leveled things up on the night and rallied the London troops.
Then the 26th minute sending off of Fabio Cannavaro gave Fulham some real hope.
A second goal for the Cottagers from Zoltan Gera before the break and it definitely game on.
The game was really turned on its head in the 49th minute when Roy Hodgson’s side leveled things up on aggregate when his side was awarded a penalty.
Gera made no mistake and stepped up to put the ball in the back of the net from 12 yards out.
Fulham had the wind in their sails, and the Bianconerri were losing heads. USMNT star Clint Dempsey put the hosts through to the next round when he fired home in the 82nd minute.
There was still time for a Zebina sending off and the introduction of Alessandro Del Piero.
It was all in vain and the night belonged to the minnows from London.
