Paris Saint Germain have completed the signing of Mauro Icardi with a fee of €50 million paid to Inter Milan with an additional €8m in bonuses.
The Argentine Striker had signed for PSG on a loan at the start of this season and has now put his signature on a 4 year deal with the club.
The contract was ironed out on Sunday as previously reported that Inter Milan have put an “anti Juventus” clause in the deal that would mean that Inter will earn an additional €15m if he is signed by Juventus in future.
PSG officially announced the deal with a statement that read: “Paris Saint-Germain are delighted to announce the signing of Mauro Icardi on a permanent deal, following the striker’s loan from Inter Milan during the 2019-2020 season.”
“The Rosario-born player is the 16th Argentinian player in the history of Paris Saint-Germain, and has made 31 appearances for the Rouge et Bleu in the 2019-2020 season, picking up a Ligue 1 winner’s medal, scoring 20 goals and providing four assists.”

In a statement on their official website: “FC Internazionale Milano announces the transfer of Mauro Icardi to Paris Saint-Germain FC: the striker, born in 1993, has permanently moved to the French club.
“The club thanks the player for the six seasons he spent with us and wishes him the best for his future professional career.”
This brings and end to Icardi-Inter saga which saw their relation sour after his wife and agent Wanda Nara called out the club on television which saw Icardi stripped of his captaincy, and then the player went on strike angry at how the club managed the situation.
Another player who will be looking for a new pastures will be PSG striker Edinson Cavani who has seen his playing time cut down due to injuries and the arrival of Mauro Icardi.
With Icardi signing for the club on a permanent deal, it seems inevitable that the Uruguan will be leaving the club as a free agent this summer. Several clubs around Europe are said to be interested in signing him.
Icardi won the League with his new club this season as the Ligue 1 season was ended early due to the pandemic with PSG at top of the standings with a comfortable lead of 12 points over Marseille until the season was cancelled.
