Jesse Lingard looked poised to return to Old Trafford after a successful loan spell at West Ham last season. The 29-year-old, though, has struggled for game time since returning to Manchester United.
Lingard has scored twice in 13 appearances for the Red Devils this season. After eight years with the club, the English forward has received an opportunity to leave.
Lingard has been contacted by Tottenham about a possible move to north London. Lingard’s current deal runs out in the winter, so this is United’s final chance to get a transfer price. (Source: football london)
Lingard, on the other hand, has stated that he has no wish to leave United in the middle of the season, according to multiple English outlets. In the next months, the Englishman is expected to work his way back into the Red Devils’ starting lineup.
Tottenham may have to wait until next summer to make a decision. They would rather avoid competition by completing a move in January. Steven Bergwijn’s possible exit could provide enough finances to pursue a winter deal.
