Tottenham are eyeing Milik with Lamela going the other way

Arkadiusz Milik is reportedly on Mourinho’s wishlist as the Tottenham boss looks to secure a backup option for Harry Kane.

The 26-year-old has just one year left on his contract and talks over an extension have stalled recently. Napoli chief Giuntoli recently admitted the club would sell the forward this summer if they can’t agree a new deal.

Milik still remains a top forward and his potential availability has attracted a number of sides across Europe.

Juventus are believed to be favourites in the race for the Polish forward but the likes of Milan, Lazio and Tottenham have also shown interest.’

Givemesport now claim that Mourinho could offer Lamela to Napoli in exchange as part of a deal that would see Milik switch to North London.

For starters, Lamela no longer has a guaranteed spot in the Spurs XI especially since the arrival of Steven Bergwijn.

Asides that, the pandemic has seen their financial strength badly affected and Spurs might need to be creative with transfers which include swap-deals here and there.

Lamela himself could still be useful elsewhere and the report claims Tottenham could use that to ward off interest from the likes of Juventus.
