“Gareth Bale has never been known for being overly connected with supporters on social media, but perhaps his absence has been striking for everyone,” said Spanish daily AS on Thursday.
“The Welsh footballer had been silent on his social media accounts since mid-November, and had not posted anything about Real Madrid since August. Until now, that is.”
He hasn’t played for the Spanish giants since a 1-0 victory against Real Betis in August, and he just contracted coronavirus.
“Bale is not hurt, but he is not well,” manager Carlo Ancelotti remarked in early January.
“We have to do everything we can to help him feel better.” “You are afraid of having a problem if you are not feeling well. We need to assess it.”
Bale last booted a ball competitively in November, when he played for Wales in a 5-1 triumph against Belarus.
Real Madrid leads LaLiga by four points over Sevilla in second place. Their next league game is against Granada on February 6.
