Cristiano Ronaldo is currently resting amidst the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and could benefit from the forced break.
The 35-year-old is on isolation in his hometown as he continues to wait for football to resume action.
Despite his age, the 35-year-old has been in good form for Juventus this season, scoring 25 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions for the Bianconeri.
Former trainer Leonel Pontes believes the Juve talisman would benefit largely from this extended period of rest.
“This rest, especially at his age, will help him recharge his batteries, retain that hunger and desire to play,” talent scout and trainer Leonel Pontes told La Gazzetta dello Sport h/t by Football-Italia.
“The incredible thing is not that Ronaldo is so good at 35, but his consistency. It’s simply inhuman to be at the top level for so many years, changing countries, teams and even positions.”
