Spain was adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The country is still suffering from the deadly disease and football is not completely out of its clutches.
News of players contracting the deadly disease continuously pop-up in the papers. David Silva is the latest big name to fall victim to the disease.
Despite this, La Liga president Javier Tebas is optimistic about the coming season. Tebas believes fans will return to the stadiums by January or February.
However, he did admit that playing in front of capacity crowds will not be realized anytime soon. That certainty hinges on availability of a vaccine.
“It’s a difficult question because it’s not up to LaLiga,” Marca quoted Tebas.
“I don’t think we’ll see stadiums like before until after a vaccine.
“I hope that can be in January or February.
“Various governments have already announced it and that’s the beginning of the end of this bad dream.”
