“Island,” based on the popular webtoon of the same name, is a fantasy drama about a dark secret concealed on beautiful Jeju Island—and humans fated to combat evil forces attempting to destroy the world.
Kim Nam Gil will play Pan, an immortal monster hunter who has spent hundreds of years protecting the planet from wicked demons. Lee Da Hee will play Mi Ho, a chaebol heiress and teacher who is ignorant of her extraordinary strength, and Cha Eun Woo will play John, a young exorcist priest.
Pan, who is described as “half human, half monster,” looks sadly at Won Mi Ho in newly revealed stills from the upcoming drama, piqued our interest as to how the two were entwined in each other’s lives. Another image shows the character’s more menacing side, with his face bloodsplattered following a terrible fight.
Meanwhile, Won Mi Ho is pursued by demons as soon as she lands in Jeju. One photograph shows the terrified teacher crouching behind a wall, her lips covered in an attempt to remain silent.
Finally, John has a solemn expression on his face as he examines a prophecy shown to him by an abbot. He looks to have made up his mind to do something after discovering the secret contained in the prophecy, and his journey is likely to lead him directly to Pan and Won Mi Ho.
“From Episodes 1 and 2, Kim Nam Gil, who will play a half-human, half-monster; Lee Da Hee, who will stand at the center of destiny as chaebol heiress Won Mi Ho; and Cha Eun Woo, who will transform into the youngest exorcist priest; will find their fates entangled with one another, and the story will begin on a grand scale,” the producers of “Island” teased.
“On top of the strange but beautiful Jeju environment, the three main characters will embark on a frightening whirlwind of a trip to confront the evil that plagues the island,” they added. “There will be suspense and enjoyable components that differ from the original webtoon, so please show a great deal of attention and anticipation.”
