Solskjaer on Maguire – ‘He gets better & better’

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has become one of the team’s most reliable and consistent players under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Signed from Leicester City last summer for a world-record €88 million (£80 m) fee, Maguire’s exceptional leadership quality earned him the captain’s armband following Ashley Young‘s departure to Inter Milan in January.

United’s defense has vastly improved since the English center-back’s arrival, who has forged a solid partnership with Victor Lindelof.

One of his most notable performances came on Saturday in the FA Cup quarterfinals against Norwich City wherein he scored an extra-time header to help his side advance in the tournament.

And Solskjaer is impressed to see his captain delivering on his expectations.

“I think his performances on the pitch say it all. He’s become club captain, he’s a leader and he’s chipping in with goals,” the Norwegian said on the club’s official website.

“So, I’m very happy with Harry. He’s a big lad and he gets better and better the more he plays. I think we’ll see him improving more and more the games he plays. He’ll get his sharpness from games.”
