Solskjaer not happy with Man United’s finishing after 3-0 Villa win

Manchester United put on yet another thrilling performance as they beat Aston Villa 3-0 at Villa Park last night.

Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring after a rather controversial penalty call. Mason Greenwood added another just before the half-time break and finally, Paul Pogba scored his first goal of the campaign.

While the scoreline suggests a different story, Man United were lacking a bit as they scrambled several chances and also came close to letting their opponents take the lead in the first half.

The Red Devils are fighting for a Champions League place primarily against Chelsea and Leicester City, being one and two points short of them respectively.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, as per the official club website, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says his side should have scored more last night as goal difference could prove to be a deciding factor in this tight race.

“I think we could have scored many, many more goals and we’re keeping clean sheets,” said Solskjaer.

“Of course we just keep going into every game wanting to win. If you win 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, it doesn’t matter if we get the points.

“But hopefully the goal difference won’t be the deciding factor at the end, because we should have had 10 more goals in the last two games.”
