Solskjaer is not concerned with Rashford goal drought

Having scored 19 goals across all competitions, Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford was enjoying a jubilant form prior to the resumption of football.

A back injury during the FA Cup clash against Wolves back in January then prevented Rashford from adding to his goal tally.

It was feared that the England international will miss out on the remainder of the campaign due to the seriousness of his injury but the three-month coronavirus hiatus helped him recover and get back in time for Premier League’s return.

But he has been unable to find his previous form, having failed to score in his last three matches.

However, reminding that he supplied a pair of assists in last week’s 3-0 victory against Sheffield United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists the striker’s recent dip in form is hardly a matter of concern.

“I think he came on and looked sharp again against Norwich,” said Solskjaer during the pre-match press conference ahead of Tuesday’s Brighton clash.

“Sheffield United he did miss, yeah, one or two chances, but the goals he created I think that is what we are focusing on and I think Marcus is on his way to his best season ever at Man United.

“So, for me, I’m just looking forward to him getting more and more minutes. He will definitely score a goal soon.”
