Shin Se Kyung And Her Agency Have Announced That She Would Take A Strong Legal Action Against Malicious Commenters

Shin Se Kyung has sued 43 malicious people who violated her personal rights by posting false facts and insulting her family, stressing that she will continue the investigation without impunity.

On the 31st, Shin Se Kyung’s agency, EDAM Entertainment, released a lengthy statement on the status of the criminal complaint against the malicious people. First, EDAM pointed out that “infringement of personal rights, such as posting false facts, malicious slander, and insulting the family of our actor Shin S Kyung, has been ongoing through various online communities and SNS,” and announced that it is filing a criminal complaint after continuous monitoring and appointing a legal representative.

On 27 October 2021, the agency filed a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul against 43 people, including an unnamed person, for insulting Shin Se Kyung. On 23 February this year, we also filed a complaint against one person, whose name is not known, at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul for insulting Shin Se Kyung, and have completed the investigation of the complainant’s statement. However, the company had difficulty securing the identities of the defendants, but continued to secure additional data and announced the judgement of the law.

The company said, “Even if it takes some time, as soon as the identities of the defendants are confirmed, we will urge the investigative agencies to investigate without prejudice. In addition, we are currently continuing to review the law, including selecting legal representatives and targets for the third additional complaint. We will continue to pursue the case to the end to prevent recurrence of malicious posts that defame the actor’s personality and honour, and will hold the defendants strongly accountable under the ‘zero tolerance’ principle.”
