By this time next weekend, La Liga would have restarted proper and Quique Setien is positive about Barcelona’s chances as action looks set to resume.
Barcelona were one of the first sides in Spain to resume contact training and have done a good job of sharing their training progressions on their social media channels.
Setien led Barcelona to a two-point lead over rivals Real Madrid before football went on to be suspended in Europe.
And for Barca to win La Liga, the Spaniard maintains that his side must win all their remaining games.
“Normally you play games in preseason and measure the minutes played, and now that will be different. We will see how the games go and what the situation is for each player -everybody is different.” Setien said to the Barcelona website.
“We think that we have to win every game if we want to be champions.”
“We’re doing well and we know that we have to be in top form to compete and win every game. We are in a good place mentally and we will see how the games go -and the difficulties posed by our opponents.”
All of his sides will be boosted by the return of Luis Suarez to the Barcelona lineup. Following months on the sidelines due to a knee injury, Setien is happy to welcome back the Uruguayan and also tipped him to be in good form.
“Luis Suárez has had extra time to recover and to be able to compete again. He’s practically at full fitness; we’ll see how he goes when the competition gets underway, but in two or three games I’m sure he’ll be at his top level.”
Setien concluded by speaking on games without fans but insists the Barcelona squad will still putout their best performance regardless.
“We will miss the stimulus and the support of the fans, who have a big influence. It’s a special situation that we will try to overcome, but it’s also going to happen for our opponents when we play away from home. We will look to bring some joy to the fans.”
