Spanish football and La Liga prepares for its restart. But Barcelona’s Nelson Semedo appears to have put the dampeners on the parade.
Spanish press broke the news that Barcelona defender Nelson Semedo had breached social distancing rules.
The 26-year-old Portuguese international was spotted at a party, apparently with 19 other people.
This meant that according to La Liga protocol the player could not be in proximity of other players until he was able to prove he was not infected with the coronavirus.
Semedo will now be tested for coronavirus today and be allowed back into team training tomorrow if he comes back negative.
The club took to social media to confirm his absence but did not go into detail.
Barcelona on their official website said:
“Absent from the session was Nelson Semedo, in accordance with the protocol established by LaLiga.”
The Catalonians might not be too concerned as they welcome back both Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez into the fold.
