Liverpool drew further closer to winning the Premier League title for the first time in 30 years after the 4-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace.
It was Trent Alexander Arnold who opened the scoring with a splendid free-kick. Mohamed Salah then added another just before the break before Fabinho and Sadio Mane also piled on in the second half to round off an utterly dominant performance.
The Reds’ name on the trophy could be engraved as early as on Thursday, provided Chelsea manage to come out on top against Manchester City.
Nonetheless, it has already been pretty much established that this season’s title will land at Anfield. And Salah cannot wait to celebrate the long-awaited achievement.
“I feel great,” he told Sky Sports. “Since I came here I said I want to win the Premier League with the team. The city didn’t win it for a long time, so it was the right time.
“Maybe last year we had a chance to win it but Man City also performed really good and they deserved to win it. It’s our time to win it and it’s great.”
