When Massimiliano Allegri was the boss at Juventus he had some strict rules. One of which was if you got a red card you had to buy the entire team a gift.
The club’s Polish shot-stopper recalls when Cristiano Ronaldo got his marching orders in a Champions League game against Valencia.
In an interview reported by The Daily Mail, Wojciech Szczesny said:
“Yes, we all have an iMac.”
“It took a very long time because he couldn’t accept the red card and insisted high and low that he was not doing anything wrong.”
“After about two months of arguing, but we all have received an iMac.”
Szczesny reveals he had to pay up once too. But his infringement was for being late to practice.
He added:
“I thought it was Tuesday, but it turned out to be Wednesday that day.”
“Allegri called me and said everyone was already there.”
“When I arrived half an hour late on the training field, everyone said: “oh, we’re getting presents!”
“I ended up buying headphones for the boys.”
