Cristiano Ronaldo has bettered Pele’s tally of 757 career goals after bagging a brace in Juventus’ Serie A clash against Udinese.
The 35-year-old was on fire in his first game of the new year as he had a direct hand in three of the four goals his side scored in the 4-1 victory.
He opened the scoring with a powerful drive, equaling Pele’s goal tally in the process, before scoring his 758th career goal and surpassing the Brazil legend’s record with a left-footed strike.
CR7 now sits second in the all-time goalscoring charts with only Slavia Prague legend Josef Bican ahead of him. Bican found the back of the net an astonishing 759 times in 530 matches between 1931 and 1955.
The former Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Sporting man hit the 700-goal milestone last year after converting a 72nd-minute penalty in Portugal’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Ukraine.
