Eden Hazard has endured a nightmare of a first season at Real Madrid. It was supposed to be his dream move when he swapped the blue of Chelsea for the white of Madrid.
He is certainly not the player that Los Blancos committed one hundred million Euros too. The general consensus is that this season and maybe his Real Madrid career has been a bust.
However, his international team boss Roberto Martinez has jumped to the defense of Red Devils player of the year.
The former Everton boss insists it is unfair to judge him given the run of bad luck, believing he will eventually get the chance to show his best at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Speaking to beIN Sports he said:
“I think Eden’s situation has been very clear. He’s missed over 20 games.”
“In eight seasons at Chelsea, he missed 18 games, so there is a degree of bad luck.”
“Eden hasn’t been able to do his job.”
“Has he failed? No, and now is not the moment to judge him.”
“Whenever he finishes his time at Real Madrid, then he can look back and rate his performance and his role.”
“If you ask me, I think Eden Hazard will be a massive, massive player for Real Madrid.”
