Real Madrid would be allowed to play their remaining LaLiga home games at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano if the need arises.
Given the current circumstances, fixtures would have to be played through the summer months when football resumes.
Spanish publication Marca report that this period is when Real Madrid already had plans to re-model the Santiago Bernabeu.
Football across Europe is likely to resume without spectators, hence the stadium capacity won’t matter and they would be allowed to play home games at a venue normally for B team matches.
With the Real Madrid first team playing at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, work will continue with the Santiago Bernabeu and it might have to be accelerated considering how things stand.
The report adds that Los Blancos have already spoken to LaLiga about this, with the competition’s ruling body seeing no issues with it.
However, the report concludes that it remains uncertain whether Real Madrid would be given the same permission from UEFA for Champions League games.
Regardless, the club are optimistic they should be able to get permission from the continent’s ruling football body as well.
