Real Madrid will auction players match worn jerseys

Real Madrid fans will be able to buy the players match worn jerseys when they play at home in the remaining matches.

Real Madrid have given their fans the rare opportunity to bid for player jerseys won in their remaining home games this season.

The project, in collaboration with MatchWornShirt, will begin on Sunday as Los Blancos take on Eibar in their first La Liga fixture after the restart.

Not just Real Madrid fans, fans from all over the world will have the opportunity to bid during the game for the shirt being used by players that are on the pitch on that matchday.

“The funds raised in these auctions will go towards maintaining the Real Madrid Foundation’s social sporting projects, which help to alleviate the devastating social impact of the pandemic, in collaboration with the main NGOs and socio-educational entities in the world,” Real Madrid said in a statement on their website.

“It is a dynamic process that closes four days after the end of the match. The objective is to allow fans from all over the world to participate, since due to the time zones of each continent many watch the matches delayed.

“Buying the shirt the player wears during the game does not pose any health risk. MatchWornShirt removes traces of bacteria and DNA without damaging the fabric. Unique treatment technology also ensures the preservation of mud and grass stains and other elements from the game,” assured Real Madrid.

Real Madrid will face Valencia, Mallorca, Alaves, Villareal and Getafe at home in the current campaign.
