It was revealed last week that Ismael Bennacer did have a €50m release clause in his contract.
Ever since those details got out, a host of clubs have gathered round to show interest in the midfielder.
PSG have been chasing Bennacer since his days at Empoli. And sometime last week, it was claimed that Pep Guardiola phoned the midfielder to discuss with him about joining Manchester City.
Now, an exclusive by Foot Mercato in France claims that Real Madrid are also in the running to sign the Milan star.
The report claims that Zidane was impressed by the Bennacer’s performances at San Siro and in the Africa Cup of Nations, where he was named Player of the Tournament.
The report adds that the priority for Zidane is still Stade Rennais 17-year-old talent Eduardo Camavinga, but Bennacer is a more than viable option.
The 22-year-old was purchased from Empoli for €16m last summer, so Milan are set to make a healthy profit if any club is to activate his €50m release clause.
