With the domestic campaign concluded, Raphael Varane and company already have their mind on the continental front.
The Champions League resumes next month and Real Madrid have a huge task ahead of them as it stands.
Los Blancos must try and overturn a 2-1 deficit against Manchester City when they meet in the second leg against Etihad.
Raphael Varane is well aware it won’t be an easy task but maintains his side have hope of completing a turn-around.
The 27-year-old explained his side’s hopes in an interview with Le Parisien.
“This is Real Madrid and anything is possible, the hope is always there even if the situation is difficult,”
“When you wear this shirt, you have a responsibility, we know that a difficult game awaits us but we will approach it with an incredible hunger.
“It’s a debt we owe to our fans, we can’t predict the result but we will fight to the end.”
Karim Benzema was a standout player for Los Blancos throughout the season and Varane also made sure to praise his countryman.
“I wouldn’t say it was the best season of his career, but that’s only because I’ve known him for a long time,” he added.
“I’m glad to see him so radiant and happy, he is at the very top of his game in a difficult position.
“He has assumed his role as leader of the attack.”
