FC Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic’s future has been called into question as of late with the relationship between him and the club increasingly appearing to be unpleasant.
Recently, in an interview with radio station Cadena COPE, Rakitic suggested that he was discontent with the lack of communication with Josep Maria Bartomeu regarding his future at the club.
He is reportedly putting off committing his future, despite his current contract set to expire the next year. Earlier, he also admitted he will only stay at Camp Nou if he can be assured of remaining an important part of Quique Setien’s plans.
The Croatian has now further stirred up transfer rumors saying he wouldn’t mind returning to his former club Sevilla.

“I’ve said it a number of times, I’d be delighted to return to Sevilla,” Rakitic told in a Movistar documentary [via Marca].
“I follow them as if I was still there and we’ll see if it can happen in the future.
Asked if he would consider wearing Reyes’ No 10 shirt as a way of paying tribute to him after he was killed in a car accident in 2019, he replied: “It would be something special if it were possible.
“I’d be proud to pay tribute to him with the number he wore.”
