Paulo Dybala announces a 100-goal competition with Cristiano Ronaldo

Paulo Dybala has stated that he and Cristiano Ronaldo are battling it out for the record of scoring 100 goals for Juventus. Both stars are extremely close to the century milestone, and have been for much longer than expected.

The Argentina international is one goal away from reaching the century mark, while the Portugal legend has three more to go. Dybala’s attempts to reach 100 goals for Andrea Pirlo’s side this season were hampered by injuries.

In addition to the setbacks, the 27-year-old was up against stiff competition for a place in the first team. Furthermore, Dybala’s contract has not been renewed and will expire in 2022. His most recent goal came on April 7 against Napoli for Juventus.

With the Bianconeri winning the game 2-1, Ronaldo was able to find the target once again, bringing him closer to the century mark. Dybala discussed his squabble with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner on Twitch.

He said: “Ronaldo and I are challenging each other to reach 100 goals with Juventus. I need only one, while he still needs three.”

“He always wants to win, even in training, and if he loses he becomes difficult to deal with for a few minutes.”

This season, Juventus still has seven more games to play. Six of them are Serie A matches, with one being the Coppa Italia final on May 19 against Atalanta. Isn’t it going to be interesting to see how Ronaldo prepares to defeat his teammate?
