Paul Pogba missed the opportunity to put United on top of the League table after he had his second-half penalty saved by Rui Patricio at Molineux on Monday night.
Neves had initially cancelled out Anthony Martial’s first-half strike with an amazing goal in the second half.
United dominated the first-half and should have scored more than one goal, and then had the chance to win it from the spot.
They were again solid at the back with the duo of Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka putting in impressive shifts again.
The visitors dominated possession during the first 45 minutes but had trouble creating too many clear-cut chances against the home side.
The first real chance fell to Martial who should have done better after Rashford put in the cross at the back post.
But Martial was on the score sheet nine minutes later as he latched on to a through ball by Rashford and hit the shot past Rui Patricio.
It was Martial’s 50th goal for Manchester United.
It was a great first-half performance from United and Solskjaer must have been happy with the shift put in by his side.
In the second half though, the home team came out all guns firing as Jimenez went close to equalise for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
And they had their well deserved equalizer when Neves produced a moment of magic for Wolves.
The Portuguese midfielder took a couple of touches on the edge and then hit a rocket of a shot which had David de Gea beaten.
It is a serious contender for August’s Premier League Goal of the Month award.
With the momentum on their side, Wolves looked dangerous and were looking like the likely team to score another goal and take all three points.
But then Conor Coady took down Pogba inside the box. The referee pointed to the spot and on stepped the Frenchman.
His penalty though was saved by Rui as he guessed right.
The Reds then tried to search of a late winner but were unable to break down their opponents.
A point is a decent result for the Red Devils but they would feel that they could have gotten more.
