Juventus CFO Fabio Paratici has confirmed that the club are in talks with Barcelona for the swap transfer of Arthur Melo and Miralem Pjanic.
He also said before moving both the players have to be convinced of the move and only then they will move forward.
There were reports that talks were in advanced stage with Arthur more open to the transfer with Pjanic already agreed to the transfer.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia Paratici said, “We have spoken frequently with Barcelona, but at this moment all the teams are playing important games, so we preferred to bypass this period.”
While there were also reports that both club wanted to do the deal quickly so as to keep the transfer deal in the 2019-20 balance sheet as the pandemic has impacted both clubs financials, but Paratici denied those claims.
“It’s not about June 30, before or after, but about finding an agreement between the various parties, and both players have to be convinced. Therefore, it’s not an issue about dates.”
