Bayern Munich have confirmed that midfielder Thomas Muller has finally put pen to paper for a new three-year deal, keeping him at the club until 2023.
The 30-year old was believed to be unhappy after having slipped down in pecking order under former manager Niko Kovac.
Hansi Flick‘s appointment helped Muller retake his spot in the Bayern team and, with 16 to his name, he has since gone on to become the top assist provider in Bundesliga this season.
“Both sides signed with a really good feeling,” the German international told on the club’s official website.
“I’m sure that once we’re playing again, we’ll continue to be very successful. That spurs me on. For me, the No.1 priority was to extend at FC Bayern. And the club felt the same way.”
“I’ve been with FC Bayern for a good two-thirds of my life now. So, you can’t say that the club and I are just along for the ride – we fight for each other.”
