Barcelona have confirmed that Arthur will join Juventus in a €72 million deal, in line with recent rumors that surfaced about the Brazilian’s exit.
Juve’s Miralem Pjanic is set to move in the other direction, although both players will conclude the 2019-20 campaign at their current clubs.
Arthur joined the club from Gremio in 2018 and has turned out 72 times in total for the Camp Nou side. That includes 28 appearances in all competitions this season, during which he has scored all four of his goals for the club.
Barcelona released a statement on their website confirming the deal and that he would remain at the club until the end of the season.
Head coach Quique Setien recently hailed the midfielder and said he was still counting on him this season despite his imminent departure.
Arthur was seen giving his teammates a speech in training which was dubbed to be his farewell speech.
The Brazilian now has a chance to end his time with the Catalan giants on a high if he can be on sync as they chase Real Madrid for the La Liga title this term.
