Jorginho arrived at Chelsea in the summer of 2018. He was a 57 million Euro signing from Napoli by then Stanford bridge boss Maurizio Sarri.
Sarri has since left the club, and after a difficult transition to Frank Lampard’s method of thinking the Italian has started to flourish.
Jorginho is one of the first names on the team sheet and also the club’s vice-captain. These are all factors that have seen his value increase since he arrived in the Premier League.
That’s according to his agent anyway.
Joao Santos believes that his client’s valuation has sored since he last moved and given the current circumstances football finds itself in, he doubts anyone can afford the midfielder.
Speaking to Calciomercato he said:
“His price-tag has certainly gone up over the last two years, as he has done well in London and become a regular for Italy.”
“He is now the vice-captain at Chelsea and has amassed a great deal of experience playing in the Champions League and Europa League.”
“I think it’s very unlikely an offer will come in for Jorginho because nobody can afford to make that kind of investment in the market right now.”
“Because of the pandemic, nobody knows when we can return to normal or even play with fans in the stadium.”
“So that’s a big problem for the transfer market.”
