As Lille all but announced that Victor Osimhen is leaving the club for Napoli. While the Italian side appears far from convinced the deal is that close after admitting their frustration at the deal dragging on.
According to Football Italia, Lille today confirmed that Victor Osimhen would be leaving the Ligue 1 side.
With the general manager, Marc Ingla saying:
“We’re at the final details for the transfer of Osimhen.”
“There were other clubs in for him too, but the player has now made his decision.”
“It’s a shame to have to sell him, but he’s leaving us.”
It is widely believed that the decision was to go to Serie A and Napoli.
However, Napoli while admitting they are trying to sign the player appears frustrated and not considering anything a done deal just yet.
Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli said:
“Osimhen’s a very good player, but there are lots of other teams who want him and we’re working on other fronts too.”
“He changed his agent, so we now have to start all over again. It’s a complex and difficult set of negotiations.”
“I don’t know.”
