Nani joined Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon on a €25.5 million move in the summer of 2007.
The Portuguese was made to feel welcomed in the team by compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo, who had arrived at the club following a similar route back in 2003.
Ronaldo opened his house, which he was already sharing with another summer signing and fellow countryman Anderson, to the new-recruit.

Nani describes the Juventus forward as a quite competitive individual while speaking about his experience of living with him. Speaking in the latest edition of the UTD Podcast, he recalls he was often involved in various challenges with his host.
“Cristiano was very competitive. When you’re staying in his house for a day, it means he challenges you at any time,” he told.
“He had a swimming pool, a tennis court, and a ping-pong table. Sometimes, it’s just competing to see who knows who’s telling the truth, or who is right about something. Every time, there was a discussion to see who was right or who was better.
“Fantastic moments and great memories we have.”
