Jose Mourinho speaking before the game against RB Leipzig hoped that the team gets to feel how special is to win a knockout game.
Mourinho’s tenure has been marred by injuries, with Kane, Son and now Steven Bergwijn is also injured which the Portuguese believes he will be out for the season.
Spurs have failed to win their last five of their matches in all competitions. And Mourinho feels a victory will help his side gain their motivation back.
“Our momentum is not the best but I feel the boys deserve something special,” Mourinho said, as Goal reports.
“The boys deserve this kind of happiness that a victory in knockout Champions League can bring.
“But sometimes in football, you don’t get what you deserve. We just have to accept and move on. But in this moment, we’re not in conditions to accept anything. We’re in conditions to fight for the tie.”
