Michael Mancienne wants more youngsters follow the example of Jadon Sancho if they are struggling to break into the Premier League side.
Michale Mancienne like Jadon Sancho left a Premier League giant for the Bundesliga in search of regular football.
The former Chelsea player went to Hamburg. While he did not reach the dizzying height of Sancho at Dortmund he thinks the opportunity that German football can give young English players is fantastic.
Using Sancho as the benchmark as to what can be achieved the New England Revolution player said in an interview reported by Goal the England winger should be an inspiration to others.
Mancienne said:
“Obviously Jadon Sancho is a great player and it is good to see English talent playing abroad.”
“Foreigners come to England all the time and it obviously seems like a normal thing.”
“I know the Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world but to go and get that experience of playing abroad is massive and it can make you a better player.”
“It can definitely help your career, especially for a young player struggling to break into their first team.”
“If you get the chance to go abroad I think that’s massive and it can further your career.”
