Min Hee-Jin’s Side Refutes Claims of Poaching NewJeans Members From Source Music

CEO of HYBE’s label ADOR denies allegations of talent acquisition from Source Music.

Legal action will be pursued against false accusations of member poaching.

On July 23rd, Min Hee-jin’s representative denied the allegation of taking trainees from Source Music to form NewJeans, stating “It’s not true at all.”

The CEO also mentioned that they will take legal action in response to the accusations.

“It’s not true at all”, adding “We will take legal response”.

Earlier on the same day, it was claimed that Min Hee-jin intentionally caused the debut of NewJeans to delay due to her dissatisfaction with not having control over the project.

Source Music had been preparing for N Team’s project since 2018 with the goal of debuting in the third quarter of 2021.

NewJean’s debut song “Attention” was already in the works for the group in 2021 when the members were still trainees under Source Music.

Kakaotalk conversations between Min Hee-jin and a shaman revealed Min Hee-jin’s determination to have her label represent the girl group, expressing gratitude for guidance received.

“Looking at the company, I want to have them because I think it would be a waste to let them debut there”, “I will fight and win over So Sung-jin (CEO of Source Music) to have my label’s name representing the girl group”, “It would have been so difficult without the instructions and guides from you (the shaman)”, etc.

N Team’s debut, planned for the third quarter of 2021, was eventually canceled due to repeated delays caused by Min Hee-jin.

S Team (currently LE SSERAFIM) was initially scheduled to debut in the first quarter of 2022, but the plan was also affected by the delays and cancellations.

Min Hee-jin claimed in an emergency press conference that she personally cast the members and accused HYBE and Source Music of not keeping their promises and neglecting NewJeans members.
