Romario in a recent interview has said that neither Lionel Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo will reach his goal tally.
Ronaldo will make his 1000th career appearance against Inter Milan on Sunday and Messi hit his 1000th goal contribution in the clash against Eibar.
Both superstars have broken many records in their career but Romario thinks that they will not be able to break his record.
In a career spanning over 20 years, Romario claims to have scored over 1000 goals. With 725 and 696 goals so far respectively, both Ronaldo and Messi looks to be far off from the said record.
“In terms of goals, I will beat them both. I scored more than double what they will score”, Romario said, via BeSoccer.
“In that position, I am still better than them.
“They definitely have different characteristics that I don’t have and today they are the best in the world. Just like Neymar.”
However, many of Romario’s goals are not internationally acknowledged with many of them coming in the Brazilian league and in friendly matches.
