Kylian Mbappe paid tribute to his ‘idol’ Cristiano Ronaldo after Sunday’s encounter in the Nations League between France and Portugal.
The pair last met as opponents in the 2017/18 Champions League knockout stages, where Ronaldo led Real Madrid to victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the last-16. Since then, Mbappe has become a World Cup winner and broken countless records.
So the chance to see arguably two of the most exciting talents go head-to-head promised to be an exciting affair.
Sadly, there were no goals for the big match but Mbappe savored every moment and later paid tribute to the GOAT on Instagram.
Ronaldo responded to Mbappe’s post with a fist-bump emoji.
There was also a nice moment at the start of the second half where the pair were caught on camera sharing a friendly exchange.
Not only that Ronaldo’s influence on Mbappe has been so big that he has also copied some of CR7’s celebrations. Almost all of Kylian Mbappe’s Celebrations Are Inspired By Cristiano Ronaldo
