Donny Van de Beek is all set to join a big club next season and there are reports that Manchester United could be looking to hijack the deal of Van de Beek to Real Madrid.
As per Dutch publication De Telegraaf, Manchester United are looking to hijack Real Madrid’s move for Ajax midfielder Donny Van de Beek.
Back in January, reports claimed Real Madrid and Ajax had already agreed on a €50 million deal to sign the 23-year-old and the final piece of the transfer was a pending medical with Los Blancos.
Van de Beek went on to dismiss those rumors but admitted that it would be nice to play under the ‘sun’ in Spain.
It was further believed that Real Madrid will make a move for the Dutchman this summer but the coronavirus pandemic seems to have put a hold to most of their transfer plans.
Many clubs have suffered a hit financially all over the world and Real Madrid are not left out. Telegraaf now report that the Red Devils are looking to capitalize on this and hijack the deal for Van de Beek.
The outlet claim that Manchester United now sense an opportunity to sign the Ajax star and they have already opened talks with the Dutch side regarding a potential move for the Netherlands international.
The report claims that Ajax are becoming impatient with Real Madrid and are open to selling Van de Beek to Manchester United if they receive a good fee.
Van de Beek also wants clarity on his future, and could accept a Premier League move, despite reportedly saying yes to Real Madrid.
