Bernd Schuster former Real Madrid coach believes Madrid are failing because of their inability to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
Real Madrid are playing their second season after the departure of Ronaldo, and their second season without a suitable replacement.
As reported by Goal, he thinks that it is important for his old club to find a suitable replacement to have a major success in the near future.
He said:
“The problem for Real Madrid is that they have lacked a No.9 for two years since Cristiano left.”
Real Madrid have had a problem scoring goals ever since his departure. As can be seen below:

Front line options for Madrid include Jovic, Benzema and Mariano. Hazard who they bought this season has been injured mostly and hasn’t settled at Bernabeau.
Bale also has had a hit and miss, his injuries and reportedly poor relationship with Zidane has not helped.
Jovic has not had been given enough chances as Benzema has started ahead of him most of the time.
While Benzema is a good striker but at 32 it is perhaps just too much to ask of him.
Even Arsene Wenger on Bein made a point of Madrid missing Ronaldo.
