Luis Suarez is close to regaining full fitness and is expected to return stronger once La Liga resumes action.
The 33-year-old was already ruled out for the season after undergoing surgery on a recurring knee injury.
Suarez has recovered well since then and recently stepped up his rehabilitation.
The suspension of La Liga could mean the Uruguayan could end up playing a part in the remainder of Barcelona’s campaign.
Setien had a video-conference with his coaching staff who were happy to give him positive news on Suarez. Eder Sarabia has been sharing training regimes with the forward and gave his verdict on a return to action.
“We’re hopeful that he will be like a great new signing,” Sarabia said as quoted by Marca.
“Until now there was a summer window, a January window and then a period of confinement.”
“We have this belief about Suarez because we’ve seen him work like crazy to recover quickly.”
Before his injury, Suarez was having a stellar campaign with the Catalan giants, scoring 11 league goals and supplying seven assists in 17 appearances.
