Liverpool will attack for the title next season – Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp might have led Liverpool to the Premier League title but the grind continues.

The German manager already has one eye ahead of next season.

Liverpool would go into next season to defend their crown but Klopp likes to see it from another perspective.

Rather than see it the usual way, the 53-year-old has said his side would go into next season with the same mentality they did this season, going all out to ‘challenge’ for the title.

“We will not defend the title next season; we’ll attack the next one.” Klopp said via BBC.

“I have learned when you think you have reached the pinnacle, you are already on the way down.”

The former Borussia Dortmund boss was wary of threat from City and other fellow rival sides.

“City will be strong next season, [Manchester] United will be strong next season, Chelsea will be strong,” Klopp added.

“It’s obvious City is an outstanding team, United is in outstanding shape and Chelsea is in a really good shape and doing some interesting business.”

Liverpool would receive a guard of honor from City players on Thursday and Klopp admitted he wasn’t exactly waiting to see it happen.

“I’m not sure if I’ve ever had one. It’s an English tradition so we take it,”

“I wouldn’t need it, because we go there and we want to win a football game rather than celebrate what happened a week before, but it’s a nice gesture.”
