Ilkay Gundogan has hailed former teammate Robert Lewandowski as the best striker in world football right now.
Both players played together at Borussia Dortmund for three seasons between 2011 to 2014, under Jurgen Klopp as manager at the time.
Gundogan has now heaped praise on his former teammate as the best in the business.
“It was a huge joy to play with him. He has improved again and again,” Gundogan told DAZN as quoted by Goal.
“Technically he was always great, now he also has that cool head. The way he scored the goals is phenomenal.
“For me he is the best and most complete striker in the world at the moment.”
Lewandowski is currently recovering from an injury he suffered against Chelsea in the Champions League.
Prior to that, his season has been nothing but impressive with 25 goals in 23 Bundesliga games.
