Spans La Liga teams have been releasing footage all week as their players returned to their respective training facilities.
Initial pictures and statements confirmed that players first had to be tested by the club’s doctors.
Those that tested negative were permitted to return and begin training under strict social distancing regulations.
However, La Liga confirmed that there were, in fact, five positive test results over the country’s top two divisions.
Players were not named due to privacy laws. According to Goal, the statement read:
“Specifically, between the LaLiga Santander [first division] and LaLiga SmartBank [second division] clubs, five positive cases have been detected in players.”
“All of them asymptomatic and in the final phase of the disease.”
“Specific identity La Liga does not know in compliance with the laws on data protection.”
There has been no talk of this being a problem with the tentative start dates of the season’s resumption.
