Klopp not fazed by missing on 100 points after Arsenal loss

Liverpool suffered only their third Premier League defeat of the season at the hands of Arsenal at the Emirates last night.

Alexandre Lacazette scored in the 32nd minute to cancel out Sadio Mane‘s opener. Reiss Nelson, after a fiasco from Alisson Becker, then helped the hosts grab a 2-1 victory.

The victory will serve as a massive morale boost for Mikel Arteta’s men who are fighting to finish within a European spot.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have already secured the league title but they will now be unable to match Manchester City’s record of 100 points in a season set in 2017-18.

Speaking after the match, Klopp chose to focus only on the positive aspects of their incredible season so far.

He said: “I cannot make any negative of something really positive – becoming champion, having so early in the season 93 points.

“I’m not the type of person who makes something negative of it because we cannot get the 100 or two points anymore.

“We get the points we deserve and we will see how many that will be. In the moment it’s 93, two games to go, very difficult games.”
