Yoo Jae-suk caught up with Kim Yong-man and Ji Seok-jin, reminiscing about their long-standing friendship and sharing some fun stories from the past.
On August 2nd, the YouTube channel “조동아리” released a new video featuring Yoo Jae-suk as a guest for the second week in a row.
In the video, Yoo Jae-suk and other broadcasters reminisced about their friendship that began in 1987.
Yoo Jae-suk shared a story about visiting Kim Yong-man’s house after a breakup when he had no one else to turn to.
He called Kim Yong-man and said, “Brother, I just broke up”, to which Kim Yong-man replied, “Come to my house”.
However, when Yoo Jae-suk arrived, Kim Yong-man gave him some brief advice, saying “Learn more about life~ Learn about love~”, and then fell asleep.
Yoo Jae-suk wondered, “Did I come here just to hear that?”, which drew laughter.
Reflecting on the situation, Kim Yong-man said, “I was already expecting that Yoo Jae-suk would break up with his girlfriend. It’s because her level was too high compared to Jae-seok’s”.
During the group conversation, Yoo Jae-suk also discussed their friendship, which has lasted for over 30 years.
Recalling the challenging times at the beginning of their careers, Yoo Jae-suk expressed his gratitude, saying “Yong-man, Soo-hong, Seok-jin, and Soo-young all took great care of me emotionally”.
Yoo Jae-suk remembered his early days as a rookie when no one would cast him. He said, “It wasn’t that I did something terribly wrong, but I couldn’t even get a small role.
I parked my car under the KBS building and cried for 20 minutes. I was very upset. Later, I saw myself on an old broadcast and understood why the directors didn’t cast me…”.
Pointing out the scenes where he acted with others, Yoo Jae-suk said, “My acting was so bad, but I didn’t realize it at the time. Back then, I wondered why the producers didn’t use me, but I guess they were right”.
Finally, the four friends concluded their conversation by exchanging supportive messages. Kim Yong-man jokingly said, “Jae-suk should come here for the third time”.
