Sami Khedira has said that his five seasons at Real Madrid are one of the most cherished memories in his footballing career.
An impressive 2009/10 season with VfB Stuttgart for Sami Khedira saw Real Madrid splash €14 million to secure his services at the start of the ensuing season.
Khedira made his La Liga debut coming on as a substitute in the match against Mallorca. A combination of defensive prowess and tactical awareness meant he became a regular in the team in no time, notching 40 appearances across all competitions in his debut season.
He maintained his spot throughout his stay at the club between 2010 and 2015 while helping the team to various titles including a La Liga, two Copa del Rey, and a Champions League.
It was also while being on the books of Real Madrid that the German international won the World Cup.
“It was awesome. I spent unforgettable moments there with many successes,” Khedira said on Instagram as he fondly looked back on his time in La Liga. [via Goal].
