Reiner Calmund, former Bayer Levekusen boss expects his old club will sell Kai Havertz for atleast €100M and that Barca cannot afford him.
The signature of Kai Havertz is set to become one of the battles of the summer transfer window.
The Bayer Leverkusen and Germany attacking midfielder is said to be on the shopping list of almost all of Europe’s elite.
However, given the latest revelations about the price, it remains to be seen how many of those clubs can realistically afford him.
According to the club’s former manager, who enjoyed a 27-year association with the club, including 11 years as boss, Reiner Calmund. Catalan giants Barcelona are out and anyone who thinks they can get him on the cheap can think again.
He told RTL: “The transfer market will calm down a bit and the Leverkusen company has the idea of collecting 100 million for Havertz.”
“The Leverkusen Trinity has decided that we won’t sell him for a cheaper price.”
“It will not be possible for the Catalans, they don’t have enough cash.”
“I know from decision-makers from Barcelona that they would like him, but that they would like to exchange a few players for him.”
“These players have high salary requirements, Bayer Leverkusen will not take part.”
