Juventus vs Napoli ends in three points for Juve as Napoli don’t show up.
According to TuttoJuve, Juventus will be awarded a 3-0 victory over Napoli.
The documents will be sent to the Sports Judge. Juventus will be awarded 3 points and Napoli will be deducted 1 point for not showing up.
Andrea Angnelli spoke to the reporters on the match:
President Agnelli: “It is essential to make a minimum of clarity, we have very clear protocols. In this case, the FIGC protocol is applied which refers to a circular approved by the CTS, so we know what to do.”
“In this case we go to a structure agreed with the ASL in order to go into fiduciary isolation and be able to continue playing the games. There is a lot of clarity in reality.”
“Juventus discovered there were two positive cases yesterday, so naturally we all went into the bubble so we’d be ready to play this game.”
“De Laurentiis wrote me a message and I replied that Juventus abides by the regulations. His message was to postpone the game. But we have rules and regulations that tell us how we should behave.”
“Any industry has its rules and if we don’t follow them, that is an error not just as professionals, but as citizens.”
“It is not up to me to say if the rules need to be changed. All I can do is follow the rules as they are written. The protocol was written precisely for what happens if there is a positive test.”
“I always prefer to win on the pitch”
It will be interesting to see if Serie A heads will entertain an appeal which will no doubt follow the decision, with Napoli claiming they were ready to board the plane to Turin before being told they were not to travel.
ESPN reports that the local authorities refused to allow the team to leave, which looks to have left the team between a rock and a hard place.
Napoli had started the campaign in red-hot form, scoring eight goals in their opening two matches without reply, and would have been hoping to make a statement against our side as we bid to win our 10th scudetti consecutivi.
Does anyone expect the league to cave if Napoli can prove the decision was not down to the club?
